Youth in Sustainable Aquaculture (YISA)

The YISA programme seeks to unlock the potential of the blue economy by generating sustainable, dignified employment for young women and men, including persons with disabilities and internally displaced persons.
As the Gender Lead for the YISA consortium, ENAF is responsible for addressing the socio-cultural norms and systemic barriers that have historically prevented youth and women from thriving in this male-dominated sector. By implementing Gender Action Learning Systems (GALS) tools and driving gender-responsive policy advocacy, we are attracting young people to the growth potential offered by aquaculture and mariculture. Our goal is to ensure that women are not just participants, but leaders and entrepreneurs across the entire value chain.
Our Consortium Partners:
- Lead: Farm Africa
- Funder: Mastercard Foundation
- Collaborators: Lattice Africa, Hydro Victoria, AquaRech, Living Wood Consultants, and Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT).
