Girls Excel Initiative (GEI)

Bridging the STEM Gap and Protecting Girls’ Rights

The Girls Excel Initiative creates safe, inclusive learning environments where every girl has the opportunity to thrive. We work on two fronts: dismantling systemic barriers, such as FGM, early marriage, and period poverty, while simultaneously opening doors to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. Through the deployment of Mobile Science Laboratories and the establishment of Hesabu (Math) Clubs, we are sparking curiosity and problem-solving skills in under-resourced schools. By providing mentorship and over 7,600 dignity kits, we have significantly improved school attendance and supported the re-enrolment of vulnerable girls, ensuring that no girl is left behind due to her circumstances.
